Web Applications Developer & Product Specialist

  • Help drive existing product development and strategy
  • Work on web applications that already have significant user traction and have won several awards
  • Assist with the concept and development of new applications
  • Contribute significantly to development output within a small team
Required Skills
  • Extensive hands-on experience in JavaScript and PHP - 24 months minimum.
  • Strong software design and coding skills - frontend and backend.
  • Aptitude and experience for product and user interface design.
  • Passion for usability, efficiency and clean code.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of current internet technologies and trends.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take a concept, execute and iterate effectively until completion/user traction.
Desirable
  • Experience working with cloud based infrastructure.
  • Experience with agile development.
  • Appropriate tertiary education.
  • Interest to constantly learn more about relevant new languages and technologies.
Typical Experience
  • 24 months in a web development role.
Development is at the core of what we do. Our applications are mainly LAMP based and we are strong believers in open source technologies but most importantly we focus on the right tools for the job. Hiring "right" ensures that we can give all staff members significant responsibility. We don't bog staff down with unproductive meetings and we use a range of productivity tools such as Yammer and JIRA.
