Web Applications Developer

  • Work on web applications that already have significant user traction and have won several awards
  • Assist with the creation of brand new applications
  • Contribute significantly to development output within a small team - we despise red tape
Required Skills
  • Extensive hands-on experience in JavaScript and PHP - 18 months minimum.
  • Strong software design and coding skills - frontend and backend.
  • Passion for usability, efficiency and clean code.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently to drive development.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Desirable
  • Experience working with cloud based infrastructure.
  • Experience with agile development.
  • User interface design aptitude and experience.
  • Appropriate tertiary education.
  • Keen to learn more about new languages and technologies.
Typical Experience
  • 18 months in a web development role
Development is at the core of what we do. Our applications are mainly LAMP based and we are strong believers in open source technologies but most importantly we focus on the right tools for the job. Hiring "right" ensures that we can give all staff members significant responsibility. We don't bog staff down with unproductive meetings and we use a range of productivity tools such as Yammer and JIRA.
